About me
I have been an English teacher for over thirty years. The first half of my career was spent teaching in British comprehensive schools in Brighton on the Sussex coast. As my children became adults I moved into international education, teaching in Hungary, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Middle East. I've held a variety of positions including Head of Key Stage, Head of Department and Teacher Librarian. I have also been an examiner for OCR, Cambridge International, AQA, Edexcel and the IB. My love of reading has sustained me throughout the ups and downs of life and this has led to a determination to encourage everyone I meet to read widely and regularly. This passion also led me to write about a hidden aspect of my childhood, which was featured in The Guardian. I am still trying (like many teachers) to keep writing, taking an Open University M.A. in Creative Writing.
