About me
David O’Connell graduated from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland with a BSc(Ed) in Science Education in 2012. In 2023, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Biopharmaceutical and Medical Device Systems from the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). He taught Junior Cycle Science (12 – 15 year olds) and both Senior Cycle Chemistry and Biology (16 – 18 year olds) in Christian Brothers College (CBC), Cork for 10 years (2013 – 2023).
David is currently on a career break from his post in Ireland and has been living and teaching in Paris since June 2023. He teaches Collège Science (11 – 14 year olds) at Ecole Jeannine Manuel, Paris at present.
David has delivered many in-person and online CPD events for the Irish Science Teachers Association (ISTA) and at The 'ChemEd' annual conference for Chemistry teachers during his teaching career in Ireland.
David was also involved in creating video content for the textbooks Chemistry Live! and Essential Science for Folens publishers over the past number of years and he is co-author of the Folens Bridge the Gap Transition Year Chemistry textbook.
